LASER TATTOO REMOVAL
AFTERCARE

INSTRUCTIONS & HEALING PROCESS
Post treatment care contributes to 70 per cent of the treatments success.
Following careful instructions will give you the best possible results for your skin type and promote good healing.
1. Cold Compress for Swelling – If the area feels swollen or tender, apply a clean ice pack wrapped in a soft cloth for 5–10 minutes at a time. Avoid direct contact with ice to prevent irritation. Repeat as needed for the first 48 hours.
2. Keep it Clean & Dry – Gently dab the area with a clean, dry cotton pad if needed. Avoid excessive water on the brows, including during showers. If the area gets damp, pat it dry for 48 hours.
3. No Touching or Picking – Although it is uncommon to get skin breakages from the laser, they can happen. If this occurs, let any scabs or flakes heal naturally. Picking can lead to scarring, infection, or uneven fading.
4. Keep the Area Hydrated – Apply a neutral cream, Bepanthen, or Vitamin E ointment in a thin layer if needed to keep the skin hydrated and support healing. Avoid heavy or scented creams.
5. Avoid Makeup & Skincare – No makeup on the area for at least 48 hours. Avoid skincare products, exfoliants, or harsh chemicals on the area for at least 7 days to prevent irritation.
6. No Sun Exposure – Protect the treated area from direct sunlight. Once healed, apply SPF 50+ daily to prevent hyperpigmentation and sun damage.
7. Skip Heat & Sweat – Avoid saunas, hot showers, and intense exercise for at least 48 hours. Heat and sweat can cause irritation, slow healing, and increase the risk of infection.
8. Support Healing with Diet & Hydration – Drink plenty of water to flush out ink particles and support skin regeneration. Eating a diet rich in vitamins A, C, and E (found in leafy greens, citrus fruits, and nuts) can promote faster healing. Avoid excessive alcohol and processed foods, which can slow recovery.
9. Boost Results with Exercise – Light to moderate exercise (after the initial 48 hours) can improve circulation, helping your body remove ink particles more efficiently. However, avoid activities that cause heavy sweating or friction on the treated area until it is fully healed.
10. Be Patient – Healing times vary, and multiple sessions may be needed. The tattoo can change colour throughout the laser process as the pigments are broken down. Wait at least 6–8 weeks before your next session to allow the skin to recover fully. If you experience excessive redness, swelling, pus, or unusual discomfort, contact your provider and doctor immediately.
